My Story
The Artist
"For me, creating art is about making smiles - seeing someone's face light up with the shared joy that guides my hand in every line."
That's not just a tagline. It's the whole thing, really. The reason I pick up the pen, the reason I stay up too late getting a highlight just right, the reason Kellsworth Ink exists at all.
I'm Kelley Frisby - illustrator, pop culture enthusiast, and firm believer that art should feel like a warm hug from an old favorite movie.

The Origin Story
It all began with a radioactive spider bite. No, wait, that's some other dude.
I've been drawing for as long as I can remember - filling notebooks, covering margins, copying the back cover of the VHS tape--you get the idea. But the work that became Kellsworth Ink grew out of something specific: a deep, unashamed love for the things that shaped me.
Vintage toys. Saturday morning cartoons. Beloved paperbacks with worn-out spines. The movies and characters that felt like they were made for you, personally, even though millions of other people felt exactly the same way.
I wanted to make art that lived in that same emotional space - the space where nostalgia and joy shake hands. So I did.
Kellsworth Ink started as a creative outlet and turned into something I never could have predicted: a real community of people who feel the same pull toward the whimsical, the retro, and the quietly magical.

The Work / The Style (and Why It Looks the Way It Does)
Every illustration I create is rooted in the same aesthetic love: the look of vintage children's books, the warmth of hand-drawn characters, the color palettes of a well-loved era. I love crafting images that feel like they just fell out of the pages of something you read as a kid - something you'd still pick up today.
My collections celebrate the icons, the Heroes and Sheroes, the cult classics, and the unexpected corners of pop culture that deserve their moment in the spotlight. Each piece is designed to feel both familiar and fresh - like running into an old friend who got a great new haircut.
The work is often (but not always!) digital illustration, but it's built with the same intention as something hand-painted: every line placed with care, every color chosen to make you feel something.

What my Artwork Stands For
A few things I believe pretty firmly:
- Art should bring joy. Not every piece has to be profound. Sometimes the most powerful thing a painting can do is make you smile the second you walk past it.
- Pop culture deserves respect. The things we love - the movies, the shows, the characters - are part of who we are. They're worth celebrating.
- Every collector matters. Whether you've been buying original art for years or you just bought your very first print, you belong here. This community is for anyone who feels something when they look at a piece and think: I need that in my life.
- Independent art is worth supporting. When you buy from Kellsworth Ink, you're not just getting a print - you're directly supporting an artist who pours genuine love into every single piece.

A Little More About Me
When I'm not illustrating, I'm probably watching something I've already seen seventeen times, searching for vintage treasure with my kiddo, or deep in a rabbit hole about something completely random that I'll somehow work into art later.
I take commissions seriously, I answer my own messages, and I genuinely care about every person who connects with the work. This isn't a faceless brand - it's just me, my pen, and a lot of enthusiasm for the things that make life a little more colorful.
